Chapter 8 - Desserts

raw food diet detox

Fruits in season make the most delicious desserts. Some of the recipes listed under APPETIZERS can be served as a dessert. E.g.:
 
Minty Orange and Grapefruit
Surprise Fruit Cup Banana Cocktail Melon Balls in Sauté rne Wine Fresh Peaches in Port Wine Berry-Mint
Cocktail Canteloupe and Banana Half
 
The perfect balance in vitamins and minerals that round out the diet of the human being. Contributes to the health of body, mind and spirit.

Apricot Or Prune Whip

2 cups dried apricots or prunes
½ cup honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 egg whites, beaten
½ cup whipped certified cream
 
When used for corrective purposes, extremely good for constipation disorders.
 
Blend all ingredients except cream with a hand beater or an electric blender. Chill and serve with light cream.

Grapefruit A La Honey

Grapefruit, cut in halves Honey
 
The citrus provides mineral and mineral salts to cleanse the system, and kidneys in particular.
 
Remove seeds and core grapefruit. Top with honey. Brown (lightly) in broiler using high flame.

Banana, Apple, Blueberry Yum

2 cups washed blueberries
3 teaspoons honey
2 mashed bananas
1 grated apple with skins

Berries are very effective in the treatment of constipation and skin difficulties {teenagers).
 
Blend bananas, apples and honey, over which you pour blueberries. May use electric blender. Top with certified whipped cream, if desired.

Pineapple Coconut Dessert

2 cups diced fresh pine apple
1 cup shredded fresh coconut
3 teaspoons Sauténe or
Malaga wine blended with 2 teaspoons honey
 
A body builder, good for treating anemia.
 
Pour wine and honey over pineapple and chill. Sprinkle with fresh coconut before serving.

Strawberries 'N' Cream

2 cups strawberries
4 tablespoons honey
½ cup certified raw cream or sour cream
 
Like all berries, strawberries are rich in iron.
 
Chill the berries and honey. Serve with cream. May be varied with combinations such as banana, pineapple, other berries and nuts.

Cherries Rum

2 cups black or red cherries, pitted
4 teaspoons honey
1 cup certified raw cream, whipped
1 tablespoon rum
 
Like the above for berries. The rum, for added stimulation.
 
Combine all and pour rum over. May light it, if you wish.

Rhubarb

2 cups fresh rhubarb, chopped fine, or liquefied in an electric blender
½ teaspoon lemon juice
Honey
 
Good for quick energy.
 
Combine honey with lemon and mix with rhubarb. If desired, warm slightly over low flame for few seconds.

Mango Flip

2 cups mashed mango pulp
1 cup chopped pecans 1 cup whipped raw certified cream

Good source of natural sugar and iodine.
 
Whip the cream with the mango and then add the nuts. Chill and serve. For variation, sprinkle with coconut, shredded.

Ice Cream

3 cups certified raw cream, whipped
3 eggs
½ teaspoon coarse salt
½ cup honey
1 ½ cups certified raw milk
1 pkg. plain gelatin
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup fresh fruit
 
The great American favorite. Can be made the proper and health-giving way, to present protein and animal fat to the body!
 
Warm milk slightly, and mix into the gelatin, vanilla honey and salt. Remove from heat, cool, and add whippec eggs and cream. Place in freezer for about an hour and then mix in the fruits. A good rum or wine may be used for flavor.

Fresh Fruit "Jello"

1 envelope plain gelatin
½ cup warm water
½ cup fruit juice or
½ cup honey
⅛ teaspoon coarse salt
 
Gelatin lacks vitamins and minerals, so add the fruits. Good for nails and skin.

Gelatin and water or juice should be thoroughly mixed. Add the fruits or nuts after it has jelled for about 20 minutes. Add bananas, berries, nuts, dates, figs and/or other fruits.
